A SHRINK-A-Thon operates much like a “walk-a-thon” or a “bowl-a-thon”, but instead of “walking” or “bowling” participants shed excess pounds. (Picture children trying to raise money for their school, as they ask family and neighbors to pledge 50 cents for every lap they walk. But now instead of children, think of adults working in teams to lose weight while supporting a variety of worthy non-profits.)
We all know many worthy causes that are in need of financial support and most of us recognize the need to shed a few pounds or just generally get healthier. The SHRINK-A-Thon™ combines these two needs, and thus creates a powerful win-win situation (or, as we like to call it, a “lose”-win). As we work together to lose weight, we raise money for charity. Everyone benefits!

So how does it work?
STEP 1 – Do you want to connect with an established Team Leader in your area, or put together your own team?

STEP 2 – Check out the charities we are supporting.
Worldwide SHRINK-A-Thon™ organizers collectively have a goal to raise $1 Million for charity in 2010. Click the “Charities” button to the right to see just a few of the great causes we are currently supporting.
STEP 3 – You and your teammates gather pledges
Ask your friends, family, co-workers etc. to pledge $ 1, $ 2, or $ 3 per pound that you lose during the 12-week program. (In the process of pledge gathering you may even find that some of them want to join you in losing weight, getting healthier and supporting your charity!)
STEP 4 – Begin your 12-week Trinity Health Weight Loss education.
Each weight loss team will have 12-24 members and meet weekly for 12 weeks. Teams will receive training from professional weight loss coaches on what we call the “four legs of success” that contribute to long-term permanent weight loss.
Throughout the 12 weeks you’ll collect on your pledges as you watch the pounds and inches disappear. In the process you and your friends will be making a real difference in the lives of those in desperate need.
